Cultural Trail Expansion

This fall, the Cultural Trail will undergo an 18-month, $30 million expansion. The trail is planned to extend in two places, on South Street to connect New Jersey Street to Capitol Avenue and on Indiana Avenue to reach 10th Street. The project will add almost two miles of trails and a new bridge over Fall Creek. The new Cultural Trail routes will connect pedestrians to historically and culturally significant landmarks.

The South Street expansion will unify neighborhoods in the near Southside and the area around Lucas Oil Stadium. The Indiana Avenue expansion will add the Walker Theater and the Indiana Avenue Cultural District, among other landmarks, to the Cultural Trail.
