Newly merged CIBA-Bike Indianapolis announces Executive Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 14, 2025

First Executive Director selected for our newly combined organization!

Central Indiana Bicycle Association and Bike Indianapolis are pleased to announce the Executive Director of our newly merged (and yet-to-be-named) organization.

Anthony Cherolis is a long-time active bicyclist who has been car-free since 2010. He has immersed himself in non-profit work, starting a community bike shop and a bike/walk/transit advocacy group in Connecticut. When visiting his family in Indianapolis during a 2022 US bicycle tour, he was so impressed with the Midwest welcome, fun bike rides, and connected multi-use trails that he moved to Indiana, and has been active ever since in everything bicycling!

“It is my dream job to work with CIBA and Bike Indianapolis," Anthony commented. “Central Indiana benefits in so many ways when more people ride bikes. From public health to environmental stewardship, bicycles improve our world. While we’re having fun, we can all work together to make our streets and crosswalks safe for all road users. I can’t wait to meet you on a ride.”

The President of CIBA-BI, Jyoti Verderame states: “We’re excited to have Tony join the newly merged CIBA-BI organization. He brings all the elements of a strong organizational leader as we grow the premier cycling organization in Central Indiana. His passion for and knowledge of cycling will help us achieve our goals of hosting unforgettable rides, advocating for laws and infrastructure that make roads safer, and educating road users in ways that reduce injuries and fatalities. He lives by example, showing us the benefits that a car-free lifestyle can bring to our health and environment.”

As Executive Director Anthony will focus on the mission of bicycle advocacy, education, and rides within our community. He starts full time as Executive Director on April 1, and you will get to meet him in person at the multiple events and rides scheduled throughout 2025.
