Slow streets are safe streets.

25mph Zone
In 2019, the Indianapolis City-County Council reduced the downtown speed limit to 25 mph. All of Mile Square is affected by this change, as well as everything between and including 11th/Oscar Robertson Blvd/10th St to White River Parkway West Dr, up to 70/65 (minus interstates).
You can submit MAC requests for outdated signage in this area to help alert City-County officials of where signs do not represent the current policy.

Neighborhood Slow Zones
Live here? Be safe here. The data shows that vehicle speed is a life or death issue: for our kids, for our elderly, for our pets.
We’re advocating for the city to pass blanket slow zones for all residential streets. Send an email to your city county councilor (Look up who that is here if you don’t know) and ask them to read the National Association of City Transportation Official’s guide “City Limits: Setting Safe Speed Limits on Urban Streets.” You might even want to take a look at this lay-person friendly document yourself!
